Herbert Ames, of Minneapolis Dies; Funeral Held Here
Funeral services were held from the Bradley Funeral home Monday afternoon for Herbert Ames of Minneapolis, who died in the Minneapolis Swedish hospital Friday following a lingering illness.
Conducting the services was the Rev. George W. Baker, pastor of the Cresco Methodist church. Burial was in the Oak Lawn cemetery.
Mr. Ames, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Jorgenson, was born in Aalboro, Denmark, January 13, 1888. He was married to Mrs. Luella Christen, the former Luella Brown of the Cresco community, February 21, 1939.
Mr. Ames spent the greater part of his life in Wisconsin and Minneapolis. He worked for the Pillsbury Flour company until he retired. Mr. Ames was a World War I navy veteran.
Surving Mr. Ames are his wife, Luella, one brother and several nephews.
