Charles Hiram Andrews, a highly respected citizen of Florenceville, Ia., passed to his reward Saturday evening, March 10, 1928, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Holcomb after a very short illness.

Mr. Andrews was born October 7, 1883, in the vicinity of Granger, Minnesota, and was at the time of his death 44 years, 5 months and 3 days old.

When he was but a child of 7 years his father, Hiram Andrews, preceded him to the Great Beyond and when 11 years of age, his mother passed away. After her death, he was taken into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Holcomb, where he was nobly reared to manhood, and to the influence of their good teachings, he became an admirable citizen, and friend to all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his departure Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Holcomb, who have been as a father and mother to him, Lee McVety, Misses Clara Fairbank and Minnie Crawford who were reared in the same home; one brother, Benjamin whose shereabouts at present are unknown; three half brothers: Will Andrews of Frankfort, S. Dak, Roy C. Noblett of Albion township and Ashley Noblett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Baptist church of Cresco. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Lynn A. Wood of Harmony assisted by Rev. Rutherford. Interment was made at Oaklawn cemetery at Cresco.
