Mrs. E.H. Allen, 88, Funeral on Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. E. H. Allen, 88, were held Saturday at the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Wasta officiating. Burial was at the Oak Lawn cemetery.

Mrs. Allen, the former Maude Rose Kuder, was born on a farm near Penfield, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Kuder on March 29, 1884. She was educated in the Penfield schools and after graduation attended the Conservatory of Music at Urbana and Champagne, Ill.

Maude moved with her parents, sister, and brother to Howard county, Lime Springs. There she met Dr. E.H. Allen, whom she married on August 9, 1905. They had one son Dr. E.K. Allen. Mrs. Allen was an active member of the Cresco women's clubs, a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Episcopalian church. She lived in Cresco from 1905 until 1967 when she went to live in St. Ansgar because of failing health. She died in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home at St. Ansgar on Sept. 13, 1972.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, Harry and Leland Kuder. Mrs. Allen is survived by her son, Dr. E.K. Allen, a granddaughter and a great granddaughter. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Irl (Lulu) Curry of Burden, Kans.
