Mass of Christian Burial for Edith M. Roberts of Harrison, Arkansas was held at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Harrison on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. preceded by the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Pallbearers were the Knights of Columbus.

Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, July 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Edith passed away at her home on July 11, 2013. She was 95 years old.

Edith Marie Roberts, the daughter of Adolph and Sophia (Panoch) Svoboda was born on March 20,1918 in Howard County, Iowa.

She graduated from Cresco High School.

Edith later moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she worked at Globe Hoist and Globe Machinery & Supply Companies for 40 years. She loved to read.

Edith was a member of Mary Mother of God Catholic Church and had been active in the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Edward J. Svoboda of Protivin and half-brother, Benjamin F. Davis of Spencer, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Danford M. Roberts, Harrison, Ark.; nephews: Larry (Helen) Svoboda of Clear Lake; Edward “Bud” (Diane) Svoboda of St. Charles, Mo., John (Nancy) Svoboda of Omaha, Neb.; Richard (Julie) Davis of Oakridge, Ore.; Dan (Shannon) Davis, Minneapolis, Minn.; and nieces: Margaret Johnsrud, St. Louis, Mo, and Deborah Davis, Ankeny, Iowa
