A Memorial Mass of Resurrection and Celebration of Life for Charles "Chuck" H. Morgan of Harmony, Minn. will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony is handling the arrangements.

Chuck, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at his home in Harmony.

Charles H. Morgan was born July 7, 1929, the only child of Willard "Burton" and Laurel "Faye" (Hewes) Morgan, on a farm northeast of Lime Springs, Iowa. At age 16 his family moved to a farm in York Twp., Fillmore County; on which he lived and farmed until 1999 when he moved to Harmony.

Chuck attended Lime Springs Elementary School and graduated from Lime Springs High School in 1947. During his Jr. High and Sr. High years he was active in 4-H Club activities and was later a leader in Howard County 4-H for nine years. He was also very active in sports. Discipline was a strong point in school along with outstanding teachers.

After high school Chuck enjoyed and played organized fast-pitch softball for 18 years; he umpired for several years after that.

Chuck married Bernadine Kelly in 1949. They had six children; Rick, Mary, Joe, Tim, Tom and Sue. In 1973 they divorced with the children staying on the farm with Chuck. In 1978 Chuck married Emily (Scheevel) Scrabeck. She had four children; Larry, Dwight, Wayne and Karen.

He served on the Harmony School Board, the York Township Board of Supervisors for 18 years, and 12 years on the Fillmore County Unit of Township Officers. Chuck was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very involved in the local Council. He obtained the Fourth Degree level of membership.

Chuck was an active volunteer in the community and attended school and church events, much which included his grandchildren and great-grandchildren which he enthusiastically supported.

Chuck is survived by his wife Emily; nine children: Rick (Gin) Morgan, Mary (Harlan) Larson, Joe (Lori) Morgan, Tim (Bev) Morgan, Tom (Renee) Morgan, Larry (Rosie) Scrabeck, Dwight Scrabeck (Janey Afseth), Wayne (Deb) Scrabeck, Karen (Edward Dains) Scrabeck; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Chuck was preceded in death by his daughter: Susan (Morgan) Reiss; and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to a charity of their choice.
