Richard Kruse services held

Funeral services for Richard Kruse of Bakersfield, CA,formerly of Lime Springs were held on Wednesday, February 2.

Richard died Friday, January 28, 2005 in Bakersfield following a lengthy illness with kidney disease and congestive heart failure.

Richard Allen Kruse was born July 26, 1947 in Cresco, the son of Dale E. and Lucille K. (Van Der Heyden) Kruse.He was raised in Howard Center and Forest City Townships in Howard County. He attended elementary school through eighth grade in Lime Springs, with the exception of three years of country school under the instruction of Rosella Fausnaugh. Richard attended Crestwood High School and graduated in 1965. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving at Vandenberg Air Force Base
in California. After being honorably discharged he began a 26-year career with the Thrifty Drug Store company. Health deterioration forced him to leave his career several years ago.

He married Karla Badenell in 1970.

He is survived by his wife Karla; two daughters: Karen and Kristie; one son: Robert; two grandchildren; all of Bakersfield; Five sisters: Shirley McCarville of LeRoy, MN, Mary Peterson of Preston, MN, Maxine Stockman of Lime Springs, Sharon Larson of Lime Springs, and Gail Ludens of St. Charles, MN; and five brothers: Gerald and Ronald of Lime Springs, Dale of Decorah, Gary of Hayfield, MN, and Lynn of Marion.

Richard was precede in death by his parents; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
