Funeral Services Held For Long-Time Businessman
Gerald (Pint) Robert Stevenson of Elma, died Sept. 7 at the Floyd County Memorial hospital in Charles City. Services for Mr. Stevenson were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Elma, with the Rev. Thomas Manteufel officiating. Burial was in the Maple Leaf cemetery at Maple Leaf.
March 20, 1909, was the date of birth of Gerald Robert Stevenson, who was born in Howard county to Mr. and Mrs. William Stevenson, Sr. On May 23, 1932, he was married to Marie C. Deterding at Maple Leaf.
Mr. Stevenson was the owner of Pint’s Service Station at Elma for the past 13 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran church, the Elma Sportsmen’s club and a retired Elma fireman. He was a life time resident of the Elma area.
Mr. Stevenson is survived by his wife, Marie, of Elma; a son, Ralph, of Elma; five granddaughters, a niece, Sharon Zajic of Charles City, who had made her home with the Stevensons; four sisters, Mrs. Louie Aberly of Lime Springs, Mrs. Arnold Laue, Mrs. Mayme Neubauer and Mrs. Annie Rane of Cresco; five brothers, Clarence of Waterloo, Francis of Rochester, James of Spencer, William of Riceville and Raymond of Lime Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons, and by three sisters, Mrs. Clara Laue, Mrs. Loretta Kubik and Mrs. Genevieve Truka.
