Mrs. Jesse Stevens Funeral Held Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Jesse Stevens were held Monday morning at the United Methodist church with the Rev. Wayne Wasta officiating. Burial was in the Phillips cemetery north of Bonair with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home in charge of arrangements. She died March 18, at the LaCrosse hospital.
She was born August 15, 1901, at Bonair, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Grabau. She was raised there and graduated from the Cresco high school. On Sept. 11, 1919 she married Jesse Stevens in the Methodist church of Decorah. She was a member of the Bonair United Methodist church.
She was preceded in death by two infant children and a sister, Mrs. Eva Murray.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by her husband, Jesse; her children; Gerald of Bonair, Mrs. James (Zona) Darrah of Waverly, Mrs. Clayton (Carol) Whynaucht of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Robert (Janel) Hyberger of Cedar Falls, Mrs. John (Martha) Loquai of Owatonna, Minn., and Jesse of Marshalltown; a brother, Earl Grabau of Bonair; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Goetsch of Cresco; and 14 grandchildren.
