Alfred Smith, 83, Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services for Alfred Smith were held Saturday at the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home with the Rev. James Cooper of Burr Oak, officiating. Burial was in the Albion township cemetery. He died at the Park View Nursing home at Ostrander.

He was born August 31, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Edgar Smith of Rochester, Mrs. Gordon (Alice) Swenson of Lime Springs, Donald Smith of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Ed (LaVerne) Erion of California, Dale Smith of Des Moines, Mrs. Lillian Johnson of Arizona; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one brother Wesley Smith of Cheyenne, Wyo., and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Gooch of Indiana.
