Rudolph Scheidel, 78, services held at Schley

Services for Rudolph Scheidel, who died April 28 at the Howard County hospital, were held at 10:30 a.m. April 30 in Holy Cross church in Schley. The Rev. Russ Meyerhofer officiated with burial in the church cemetery. Conway Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Rudolph Edward Scheidel was born May 11, 1903 in Ossian to Andrew and Mary Scheidel. He attended the Ossian Catholic school. On Nov. 23, 1926 he married Angeline Barnes. Rudolph was a farmer.

Survivors are his wife: a daughter, Mrs. Irven (Norma) Reicks; two sons, Norman of Cresco and Dale of Murray, Utah; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Paul Scheidel of Ossian and Louis Scheidel of Canute, Okla.; four sisters, Alvina Hemesath, Mrs. Frank (Bertha) Hemesath, Mrs. John (Iola) Hemesath, all of Ossian and Pauline Parker of Earlimart, Calif.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Gerald, and two sisters, Etta Hruska and Dela Hauber.

Relatives attended from Murray, Utah, Boulder, Colo., Canute, Okla., Rochester, Spring Valley, Winona, Minn.; Des Moines and Waterloo.
