Baby’s Sudden Death
The death last Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rohr’s only child, Clarence, is particularly sad. Death was almost instantaneous and is thought to have been due to heart failure. The little fellow was one year eight months and 13 days old. He was an unusually bright baby and had been talking and walking for some time past. Saturday forenoon at about 11 o’clock when Mr. Rohr entered the house he was met by the baby who accosted him thus: “Come papa, dance.” The father took hold of the baby’s hands and played with him and then seating himself took the little fellow up onto his lap and in a few minutes let him down to the floor. Clarence started to walk across the room to meet his grandma and while on his way stooped to pick up a spoon that was lying on the floor, when suddenly he threw up his hands and fell forward on his face and was dead before the parents and grandmother could realize that anything had happened. – Ema New Era.
