Burton W. Phillips, Last of Family of 10, Died Thursday

Funeral services for Burton W. Phillips, age 76, life-long resident of Albion township, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in a Lime Springs Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. George W. Turner, pastor of the Cresco and Bonair Methodist churches, conducted the service, and burial was in the Phillips cemetery, north of Bonair. Mr. Phillips died Thursday in a Lime Springs convalescent home.

Burton William Phillips, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Phillips and last survivor of a family of 10 children, was born and raised on a farm one and one-half miles north of Bonair. When seven years of age, he left his log cabin home with his parents, and moved to the home shortly after last Christmas. {a portion of article seems to be missing}

He received his education in the Liberty school of Albion township and attended religious services there for a number of years. He was engaged in farming until several years ago when he semi-retired.

Mr. Phillips, a single man, is survived by 18 nephews and nieces.
