Enfred Ohrtman, Young Father of Two, Dies Here
A requiem mass was offered in the Schley Holy Cross Catholic church Saturday morning for Enfred Roy Ohrtman, 35, Cresco farmer, who died in the Cresco hospital of lung cancer Thursday. Mr. Ohrtman had been ill since last May.
Offering the funeral mass was the Rev. G. W. Karnik of Protivin, and burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery adjoining the church. Military rites were conducted as part of the services. The Peckosh Funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mr. Ohrtman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ohrtman, was born at Fort Dodge November 18, 1928. He attended the Ringsted high school and served in the Korean conflict during 1951 and 1952.
Mr. Ohrtman came to the Schley community from Ringsted in March, 1959. He was married to Maureen Miller in August of the same year. Mr. and Mrs. Ohrtman became the parents of two children.
Surviving Mr. Ohrtman, in addition to his wife and children, John Kenneth, age three and one-half years, and JoAnn, one and one-half years, are four brothers and a sister, Carl Ohrtman of Cresco, Ray Ohrtman of Ringsted, Dale Ohrtman of Ashland, Nebraska, Frank Ohrtman of Pomeroy, and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Marlow of Lone Rock.
Mr. Ohrtman was preceded in death by his parents who died in Emmetsburg in 1952.
