George Mrachek services held Jan. 5

Services for George Mrachek, 82, were held at 11:00 a.m. January 5 in Assumption Catholic Church, Cresco with the Rev. Michael C. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery at Schley. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He died January 2, 1991, at the Cresco Care Center.

George Thomas Mrachek was born in Howard County on December 29, 1908, to Arthur J. and Stella (Bouska) Mrachek. He attended the rural schools of Howard County and then was a farmer for many years.

George married Henrietta Novak at Holy Trinity Church, Protivin, on November 8, 1933. They were the parents of one son. George was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of Cresco; son, Sylvester of Cresco; three granddaughters; also a sister, Helen Bina and a brother, Frank Mrachek, both of Cresco.

His parents and two brothers, Joseph and Arthur G. preceded him in death.
