Lewis J. Maravetz, 94, services held August 27

Funeral services for Lewis J. Maravetz, 94, of Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Elma were held Tuesday, August 27 at 10:00 A.M. from the Immaculate Conception Church, Elma. Rev. Msgr. L. H. Reicks officiated. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery, Schley, Iowa.

Lewis J. Maravetz died Sunday, August 25 at the Colonial Manor of natural causes.

He was born August 18, 1891 the son of Joe and Mary Maravetz in Howard County. He was a farmer until his retirement and a member of the Catholic Church. He chose Louise Shimek as his wife and was the father of six children.

Survivors include two sons, Arnold of Elma and Raphael of Riceville; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Clementine) Meier, Elma, Mrs. Leo (Marjorie) Weber, Charles City and Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Nicholson of Osage; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Harger of Rochester, Minn.

He is preceded in death by his wife and a daughter Gilberta Marie.
