Agnes Hruska, 82, services held June 7

Funeral services for Mrs. Alois (Agnes) Hruska, 82, were held June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic church in Schley. Msgr. D. P. Heineman officiated with interment in the church cemetery. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hruska died June 5 at the Howard County hospital following a stroke.

Agnes Frances Hruska was born February 26, 1902 in Maravia, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Frank and Agnes Opat. They came to this country in 1907 and lived in the Schley area. She attended the rural school.

On July 3, 1923, Agnes married Alois J. Hruska at Lourdes. They farmed in the area. They became the parents of three children. Agnes was a member of Holy Cross church and the Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Alois who is a resident of Evans Memorial Home in Cresco; two daughters, Mrs. Verne (Ruth) Fenske and Mrs. Joseph (Marie) Ferrie, both of Cresco; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; also two brothers, Joe Opat and Edward Opat, both of Cresco and two sisters, Mrs. Edmund (Ruth) Rethamel of Cresco and Mrs. William (Emma) Korbel of Lime Springs.

Her parents, a son, Leonard who died Nov. 22, 1940, a brother, Frank and a sister, Mrs. Mike (Frances)
Foley preceded her in death; also three brothers and two sisters who died in Maravia, Czechoslovakia.
