Hintz

Emil John Hintz, son of Andrew Hintz and his wife nee Kliem, deceased, born at Elma, Iowa, Jan. 7, 1892, died near Davis Corners Aug. 9, 1915. Interment took place in the cemetery of the Lutheran church at Maple Leaf on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 11 a. m., Rev. Matthias officiating.

Mr. Hintz had been working around Maple Leaf for a number of years, and was known as an obedient son and a faithful servant. It was here where he found a worthy helpmate in the person of Miss Anna Groth. The joyful wedding was celebrated only a few months ago – Feb. 22, 1915. Mr. and Mrs. Hintz went to housekeeping at once on a rented place one mile east of Davis Corners with much courage as is usual with young people of German blood. Soon, however, tuberculosis, with which Mr. Hintz had been affected showed again its workings, and that in its worst form, quick consumption.

After a few months of general weakness there came several weeks of incapacity for work and ten days of confinement to the sick bed. What a fragile vessel our body is! Young people take care of your health.

The age of the deceased was only 23 years, 7 months and 2 days. He leaves to mourn his early departure the widow, Mrs. Anna Hintz, his father Mr. Andrew Hintz of Elma, 6 brothers and 6 sisters, besides many other relatives and friends.

Requiecat in pace.
