Marcelline Havel Rites Held in Schley Church

Funeral services for Marcelline Havel were held Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross church at Schley. The Rev. Harry Koelker officiated. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery at Schley.

Mr. Havel died Jan. 7, of a brain tumor at the mental hospital in Independence. He had been ill for two years.

Mr. Havel was born in Howard county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Havel, Sr. He attended school in Howard county. He was employed in farming and was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic church.

He is survived by his twin sister, Mrs. Ed (Marcella) Opat, and other sisters, Mrs. Albert (Rose) Triska, Mrs. William (Mary) Frana, Mrs. Lewis (Agnes) Milota, Mrs. Geo. (Lillian) Pecinovsky, Mrs. Reuben (Emma) Maravetz, Mrs. William (Martha) Hasik, Mrs. William (Anna) Samec, and a brother, Frank Havel.

Mr. Havel was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Steve (Francis) Frana and Mrs. Albert (Cecilia) Vokaty, and one brother, Lewis Havel.

Friends and relatives attending the funeral were from Decorah, Ridgeway, Calmar, Waucoma, Spillville, Protivin, Lourdes, Charles City, Cresco and Elma.
