Emil A. Friedrich, Ill for 18 Months, Buried on Sunday

Funeral services for Emil August Friedrich, 60, of Elma, who died in the New Hampton hospital on Friday, were held Sunday afternoon at the Maple Leaf Saint Paul Lutheran church.

Mr. Friedrich suffered from cancer the last 18 months.

The services were conducted by the Rev. David Redman, pastor, and burial was in the Maple Leaf cemetery.

Emil August Friedrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Friedrich, was born on a farm five and one-half miles north of Elma December 4, 1900.

He attended the public schools and was a life-long member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran church.

Mr. Friedrich made his home with Mrs. Lawrence Halweg the last year and one-half. Although handicapped since childhood with a lame leg, Mr. Friedrich did farm work whenever possible. He was baptized and confirmed in the Saint Paul’s Lutheran church.

Surviving Mr. Friedrich are six brothers and sisters, including E. W. Friedrich of Elma, Mrs. Rudy (Pauline) Bueckmann of Saratoga, Mrs. Seth (Martha) McCaleb of Rochester, Mrs. Lawrence (Anna) Halweg and Mrs. Victor (Dora) Streich of Elma, and Erich Friedrich of Riceville.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the services were from Fairbank, Waterloo, Westgate, Sumner, and West Union, Rochester, Minneapolis and Mankato, Minnesota, and Waupaca, Wisconsin.
