Helen Bina services held Friday

Funeral services for Helen Bina were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 18 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Schley. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Michael L. Tauke and the Rev. Allen M. Schmitt officiated. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Helen, 87, died Tuesday, December 15, 1998 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco.

Helen Barbara Bina was born May 11, 1911 in Howard County, near Schley, the daughter of Arthur J. and Stella (Bouska) Mrachek. She attended the rural school.

On October 13, 1941, she was united in marriage to Charles M. Bina at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Schley. They were the first couple to be married in the church.

They made their home on the farm east of Schley. Helen continued to live on the farm after Charlie’s death until she had to enter the Cresco Care Center.

Survivors include her two sons: Art of Cresco and Ray of Waucoma; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Frank Mrachek of Cresco.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles on January 7, 1995, one grandchild, and three brothers: George, Arthur and Joseph Mrachek.
