Merle Blomgren, 78, services held Oct. 5

Services for Merle A. Blomgren, 78, of Decorah, were held at 1:00 p.m. October 5 at Sensor-French Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Gettman officiating. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery at Bonair. She died October 3 in the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.

Merle A. (Phillips) Blomgren was born July 19, 1907, to Ulysies and Mary (Garver) Phillips. She attended the rural school, Cresco High School, and the University of Northern Iowa.

Merle married Raymond J. Blomgren on April 6, 1932, at Galena, Ill. They were the parents of two sons. Merle was an affiliate of the Jehovah Witness.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; two sons, Wayne and Roger, both of Rochester, MN; five grandchildren and one brother, Lester Phillips of Mountain Home, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Florence.
