WILBUR – At the home of her daughter in this city on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1893, Elizabeth C. Wilbur in her 81st year.

Elizabeth C. Jones was born April 9th, 1813, in Washington county, N. Y., where she resided until she was 19, when she moved with her parents to Oswego Co., N. Y.

She was married to Henry C. Wilbur March 5th, 1843. They lived in Oswego, N. Y., until 1872, when they moved to Howard Center, Iowa, where they continued to live until death separated them two years ago, taking the husband. Their union was blessed with seven children, one only, Mrs. Mary D. Howlett, of Cresco, surviving them.

When but a girl she felt that she had found a Savior, and received remission of sins, but never united with any church, her inclination being, however toward the Baptist denomination.

She was a kind and loving mother, a true friend and neighbor, with keen sympathy for all suffering and wrong. Her sufferings were long and intense, yet she was patient under it all, enduring it without a murmur, often saying to friends that she longed to go and be at rest, but always expressing her willingness to abide God’s own good time, feeling assured that her perfect trust would find its reward at the last.
