WHITE
Emily Durkee, born in Canada, and died at LeRoy, Minn., Nov. 30, 1893, aged 74 years, 10 months and 13 days. In early life she moved with her parents to the state of Vermont. On March 18, 1887, she was united in marriage to Alexis White, who died in June, 1892. About fifty years ago she, with her husband, moved from Vermont to New York state, and in 1855 to Fayette county, Iowa. A year later they settled in Howard county, Iowa, where the latter part of her life was spent. Eight children were born to them; six boys and two girls. Six of these, four sons and two daughters, are still alive. Soon after her marriage she, with her husband, united with the M. E. church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death. Services were conducted at the home of her son, near Cresco, Iowa, by Rev. W. D. Macurdy, and her body was laid to rest in Howard Center cemetery December 1, 1893.

The widow of Alexcis{sic} White died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. L. Thomson last week, and was buried in the cemetery at Howard Center on Friday last, where her husband was buried. Mrs. White was quite advanced in years. The funeral was held at her late home, three miles west of Cresco.
