Louis Maronde, Cresco Insurance Agent, Dies Here at Age 89

Funeral services for Louis Albert Maronde, 89, Cresco insurance agent, who died Friday in the Cresco hospital where he had been a patient for the last five weeks, were held at the Bradley Funeral home Saturday afternoon.

The Rev. E. C. Franke, pastor, conducted the services and burial was in the Howard Center cemetery.

Mr. Maronde, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Maronde, was born in Manistee, Michigan, Nov. 4, 1876. At the age of two he moved with his parents to Davis Corners. He was confirmed in the Davis Corners Lutheran church.

Mr. Maronde was united in marriage with Nellie Bauer, June 3, 1903, in the home of the bride’s parents at Davis Corners. Mr. and Mrs. Maronde became the parents of three children.

The Marondes farmed in the Davis Corners community until 1936 when they moved to Cresco. Mr. Maronde was an insurance agent for about 40 years.

Surviving Mr. Maronde are a son, Roy of Rochester; one daughter, Mrs. Viola Hansen of Waterloo, and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mr. Maronde in death, in addition to his wife, who died June 6, 1966, and his parents, were one son, Stanley; one brother, Herman; one sister, Martha, and one brother and one sister who died in infancy.
