Hazel Markovetz

Hazel Markovetz, 95, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Calvin Community. A private family burial is at a later date at the New Oregon Cemetery in Cresco. Online condolences may be made at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Born Aug. 11, 1916, Hazel was the daughter of Archie and Borgine Hoyt. She was a member of the Westkirk Presbyterian Church. In 1985, she retired from the Des Moines Public School System as an elementary school teacher.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Carol Dixon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Markovetz; and her son, Alton Markovetz.
