James.E. Nichols Dies on Friday
Funeral services for James Edwin Nichols, 39, who died Friday, was held at the Cresco Assumption church Monday morning with Monsignor Vincent T. Hovermann, pastor, offering the requiem mass.
Burial was in the afternoon in national cemetery at Fort Snelling, Minnesota, where military services were conducted. The Bradley Funeral home had charge of arrangements.
James Edwin Nichols, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nichols, was born in Cresco August 6,1920.
He grew up on the farm and attended the Cresco schools. He served in the navy during World War II.
Mr. Nichols was married in December,1958,to Patricia Brannigan of Minneapolis. The couple lived for a time in Minneapolis and this spring Mr. Nichols came to Cresco to prepare for farming operations. His wife was planning to join him. Mr. Nichols died in his sleep in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.K.Eaton, where he was staying.
Surviving Mr. Nichols are his wife and brother, Henry Nichols, of Cresco.
