Joseph D. Kennelly, 75, of Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, November 14, 1993, in the United Hospital, Grand Forks.

Joseph Kennelly was born January 9,1918, in Cresco, the son of James and Angela(Zender) Kennelly. He grew up and attended schools at Cresco, graduating from high school here. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

On April 11, 1939, he married Eloise Kjorvestad at Cresco. They lived in Cresco where he was employed in the Automobile Business until moving to Anaheim, CA, in 1956.They moved to Mount Shasta, CA, in 1978, and Laguna Hills,CA,in 1984. He owned and operated Automobile Sales Companies and later was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired. They moved to Grand Forks in 1990.

Surviving him are his wife, Eloise;two sons, James D. Kennelly and John R. Kennelly both of Grand Forks; three daughters, Anne Montgomery of Mt. Shasta,CA, Mary Elizabeth Kennelly of Fairfax,CA,and Jane E. Kennelly of Diamond Bar, CA;ten grandchildren;one great grandchild;and two sisters, Mary Bartosik of Anaheim, CA ; and Kay Holden of Winter Haven, FL.

Preceding him in death were an infant son and a daughter, Kate Angela and one brother Jerry Kennelly.

Private family services will be held in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks,ND.Amundson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family prefers that memorial be designated to the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Wast Grand Forks, MN.
