Services Tuesday for John Dotzler, 68
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12 for John Dotzler, 68, at First Lutheran Church in Cresco. Officiating were the Rev. Gary Lee and Intern Kristine Totzke. Interment was in Howard Center Cemetery with Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He died March 9, 1991, at the Howard County Hospital.
John Dotzler was born June 27, 1922, in Howard County, the son of Edward and Mae (Schaffer) Dotzler. He was united in marriage to Lois Peterson on January 11, 1944.
The couple farmed near Kendallville and John also worked for Winneshiek County until 1954. They then moved to Cresco where he was employed by Howard County as an equipment operator for 31 years, retiring in 1984.
John is survived by his wife, Lois; five sons: David of Charles City, Gary and Dale, both of Lime Springs; Scott and Kenny, both of Cresco; six daughters, Mrs. Zack (Janet) Neubauer of Oregon, WI, Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Hudecek of Mason City, Mrs. Harold (Diane) Meyer and Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Flugge, both of Cresco; Mrs. Donald (Kathy) Aberg of Mason City and Arlene Dotzler of Ft. Campbell, KY, and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers, Edward of Ridgeway, Lyle of Champaign, IL, Steve of Cudahy, WI, Henry of Granger, MN, and Gene of Cresco; four sisters, Hazel Daws of Coleman, SC, Edith Lepa, Charlotte Lepa and Mrs. Paul (Ann) Hanni, all of Cresco.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Angela who died in infancy; a granddaughter Brenda Neubauer; two sisters, Frances Long and Bess Foley and four brothers, Jim, Dennis, Wayne and William who died in infancy.
