SNAVELY – At the home of her father in Cresco, Tuesday, July 20, 1897, Lydia Ellen, daughter of D. C. Snavely.
The deceased was born August 22, 1873, in LaPorte county, Indiana, and was the second daughter of a family of seven children. She has been ill for nearly two years with what was finally pronounced to be bright’s disease.
The funeral was on the Thursday following her death, from the Congregational church, the interment being in the Howard Center cemetery where her mother is buried. All the brothers and sisters were present except one. In addition to the ones residing here, Mrs. Enos Ricker, of Park Rapids, Minn., and Mat Snavely, of Elma, attended the funeral and were present at her death.
Since the death of her mother, she has been her father’s house-keeper, admirably fulfilling her duties and in all her daily life making herself loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact.
