Arlene V. Hron, 63, of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 404 North Elm St. Cresco, Iowa, a scripture service will be held at the end. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Arlene V. Hron was born on May 1, 1949 to John and Caroline (Lukes) Pecinovsky in Howard County, Iowa. On February 24, 1968, Arlene married Ronald Hron at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, Iowa. Ronald and Arlene made their residence in Cresco, raising their three children. Arlene loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a familiar face in the stands cheering them on at ball games. Arlene was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and their rosary society. She enjoyed listening to polka music, cooking, gardening, playing cards, and trying her luck gambling. Arlene is survived by her 3 children, Jeff (Julie) Hron of Grimes, Iowa, Doug (Kathy) Hron of Polk City, Iowa, and Rhonda (Maynard) Thompson of Cresco, Iowa, her 4 grandchildren, Carly Hron, Bryer, Trystin, and Brayden Thompson, her sisters, Evelyn Moriarty, Madonna Anderson both of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marlene Hron of Cresco, IA, and a step sister Frances Hovorka of Cresco, Iowa, and her faithful four legged companion, Brownie. Her parents, husband, Ronald on January 7, 2008, and her brother Wilmar Pecinovsky preceded her in death
