Dolores “Dolly” Miles, 93, of Riceville, IA formerly of Saratoga, IA passed away at the Riceville Family Care Center on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 404 North Elm St. in Cresco, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the funeral home. Dolly was born on April 12, 1918 to David and Emma (Horesji) Dinger on the family farm in Howard County. Dolly attended rural school in Howard County and graduated from Riceville High School. She worked at Oliver in Charles City during World War II. Dolly began teaching in a country school before attending Upper Iowa University where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Throughout her 38 years of teaching she taught in Lime Springs, Chester, and Cresco Schools. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. On April 9, 1939 Dolly married Robert Miles in Worthington, Minnesota. Dolly loved to read and enjoyed watching Westerns on TV. She is survived by her son, David (Becky) of Riceville, Iowa and a brother-in-law Alfred (Bud) and Joan Miles, Omaha, Nebraska. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob, her mother and father-in-law, Reed and Myrtle (Ridgeway) Miles. A sister and brother-in-law, Ione (Richard) Jones, brother-in-law, Bill Miles, sister-in-law, Marian Miles and a sister and brother-in-law Mary (John) Seesiger.
