Mrs. Geo. Lybbert
Mrs. George Lybbert died at the home of her son Edward west of Cresco, Sunday, Aug. 2, 1936. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist church, the Rev. W. H. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Howard Center cemetery.
Kenneth and Edward Lybbert, Oliver, Sam and Elton Reis and John Owen will be the pall bearers.
Anna Katrina Anderson was born in Denmark April 21, 1849 and reached the age of 87 years, 3 months and 12 days.
In early life she was married to Peter Godfresen. Five children were born to them. They came to America 57 years ago and settled on a farm in Howard county. Mr. Godfresen died 55 years ago.
In 1884 Mrs. Godfresen was married a second time to George Lybbert of Cresco. Five children were born to their union. They lived on a farm until 1913 when they moved to Cresco where she lived until the past few months. Her health had been failing for about a year and as she grew weaker she went to live in the homes of some of her children and was at the home of her son Edward when she passed away.
One daughter, Frieda, and three sons, William, Fred and Joseph, preceded her in death.
She is survived by Mr. Lybbert, two daughters, Mrs. Mathilda Reis of Bonair and Mrs. Anna Klockow of Richland Center, Wis.; four sons: Soren and John of Menominee, Wis., Edward and Henry of Cresco; four brothers, Marion of Lake Norden, S. D.; Nicholas and Charles of Grand Forks, N. D.; Andrew in California. There are 32 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren besides numerous other relatives and friends.
In early life she was baptized in the Danish Lutheran church. Later she united with the Methodist church of Cresco of which she was a member at time of death.
Mrs. Lybbert was a quiet, home loving person, a valuable neighbor and friend and a good christian woman. She was one of those high type women whose character gives solidity and worth to a community.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to our friends, relatives and neighbors for their kindness and expressions of sympathy tendered us during our recent bereavement, the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Anna K. Lybbert. We also gratefully acknowledge the many beautiful floral offerings given in her memory. We wish to thank Rev. Mitchell for his consoling words and the choir, for their services.
