Irene M. Pittelko, 63, services held Saturday
Funeral services for Irene M. Pittelo, 63, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cresco. The Rev. Arndt Braaten and the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiated with interment in Howard Center cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews: James Ott, Brian Ott, Tim Ott, Ricky Ott, David Mollenhoff and Dennis Ott. Arrangements were with Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home.
She died January 8 at the Howard County Hospital after a lingering illness with cancer.
Irene M. Pittelko was born September 19, 1922 in Winneshiek county, the daughter of John and Mary (Junge) Ott. On May 15, 1941 she married Walter Pittelko at Preston, MN. They farmed until moving into Cresco. Following that, Irene operated the King Koin Car Wash.
Survivors are their four children: Mrs. Kurt (Elaine) Klaenhammer of Stillwater, MN, Gerald of Rochester, MN, Allen of Fond du Lac, WI and Mrs. Adolph (Jolene) Gamez of Cresco; nine grandchildren; also five brothers; Melvin and Herb Ott, both of Cresco, Orvald Ott of Fairbank, John Ott of Waterloo, Francis Ott of Denver, Iowa, and three sisters, Mrs. Emmett (Lucille) Borseth of Cresco, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Ormsby of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Francis (Janice) Mollenhoff of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, who died December 27, 1985, two brothers, Ervin and Florian Ott and a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Alvira) Richardson.
Relatives attending the funeral were from Fond du Lac, WI; Stillwater, Rochester, Minneapolis, MN; Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Fairbank, Denver, Hudson, Urbandale, Rock Rapids, Doon, LaPorte City and area towns.
