Services held for Ovidia Ferkingstad, 89

Funeral services for Ovidia Ferkingstad, 89, who died January 4, 1989 at Evans Memorial Home, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6 in First Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Howard Center Cemetery with Bradley Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ovidia Ferkingstad was born April 3, 1899 in Howard county, the daughter of Nels and Martha (Johnson) Ferkingstad. She was baptized in the Synod Lutheran Church in Cresco and confirmed in the Jerico Lutheran Church. Ovidia attended the rural schools in Howard county. In 1924 she moved to Cresco.

Her only immediate survivor is a sister Josie, a resident of Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mena Thompson, Mabel Sperley and Nettie who died in infancy; two brothers, Oscar and Enus.
