Services held today for Gertrude Soltow
Funeral services for Gertrude Soltow, 90, of Cresco, were held today, April 22, at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at the United Methodist Church in Cresco with interment in the State Line Cemetery in rural Harmony, MN. Rev. Lewis Flanigan officiated. The Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco handled the arrangements.
Gertrude died at the Howard County Regional Health Services on Sunday, April 19.
Gertrude was born January 10, 1908 in Winneshiek County, the daughter of John and Angeline (Mosher) Easler. She attended rural school and was a graduate of Harmony High School and continued Normal Training. She taught school for several years.
On August 28, 1929 she was united in marriage to Oliver Soltow. They farmed northeast of Cresco for many years until 1969 when they retired and moved to Cresco. Gertrude was a life-long and active member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Oliver; one son, Allen of Tulsa, OK; and two grandsons.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bernice Goldsworthy.
