Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 17 at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Waldum officiating.
Dr. Johnson was born March 24, 1919 in Howard County to Walter Leon and Clara (Grinde) Johnson. At the age of 17, he joined the Navy and served as one of "Doolittle's Raiders" during World War II aboard the aircraft Hornet. On March 14, 1942 he married Helen Archy in Jersey City, New Jersey. He retired from the military in 1961 after 23 years of service. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic Medicine in Davenport, Iowa. After graduation they moved to Walla Walla where he started his practice. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the American Chiropractic organization, Elks Lodge, American Legion, Eagles Lodge, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, National Rifle Association, Tollgate Trailfinders Snowmobile Club, Oregon State Snowmobile Association and Fleet Reserve Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Johnson and Lee Johnson, both of Portland, Oregon; 2 sisters, Gladys Jean Jones of Davenport, Iowa and Marlys Seath of Roy, Utah; and 14 nieces and nephews.
NOTE: For about 20 years his parents had lived northeast of Waukon, Iowa with their daughter, Mrs. Edmund (Gladys Jean) Jones. Dates are not given but probably it was in their later years of life.

Services for Dr. Arthur Loren Johnson, 67, of Walla Walla were held in Christ Lutheran Church. He died February 12, 1987, at Walla Walla General Hospital.
Arthur Loren Johnson was born March 24, 1919, in Howard County to Walter and Clara Grinde Johnson. He attended grade school here and graduated from Cresco High School. He entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, serving as one of "Doolittle's Raiders" during World War II on the aircraft carrier, Hornet. He married Helen Archy on March 14, 1932, in Jersey City, NJ.
Loren retired from the military in 1961 after 23 years of service. He then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport. He then moved to Walla Walla where he started his practice, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the American Chiropractic Assn., Elks Lodge, American Legion, Eagles Lodge, Scottish Tite, Masonic Lodge, National Rifle Assn., and Fleet Reserve Assn.
Survivors are two sons, Mark and Lee Johnson, both of Portland, OR; two sisters, Gladys Jean Jones of Davenport, Iowa, and Marlys Seath of Roy, Utah.
