William Davis services held

Graveside services for William "Bill" Davis were held on Friday, September 17 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in rural Cresco with Rev. Lewis Flanigan officiating. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Bill, 85, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Evans Memorial home in Cresco.

William B. Davis was born March 28, 1918 in Rochester, NY, the son of William F. and Edith (Watson) Davis. He received his education in the schools of Rochester, NY and Canton, OH. In 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in New Guinea during World War II. After the war, he located in the San Francisco Bay area where he worked in the tool and die industry until his retirement in 1983.

On September 7, 1971 he married Shirley Bigalk at the First Presbyterian Church in Reno, NV. In 1988 they moved to Cresco to spend their retirement years.

He is survived by his wife Shirley.
