Alex J. Goetsch, 90, Funeral Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Alex J. Goetsch, 90, of Albion township, who died Saturday, were held at the Zion Evangelical United Brethren church yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. Mr. Goetsch had been in failing health the past year.

Conducting the service was the Rev. Dean Timm, pastor. Burial was in Cedar Hill cemetery with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Goetsch, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Goetsch, was born in Dodge county, Watertown, Wis., April 26, 1877. In 1879 he came with his parents, one brother and one sister to Fremont township, in Winneshiek county, in 1883 the family moved to a farm in Albion township where Mr. Goetsch spent the remainder of his life.

He lived and farmed with his brother, William and family on the home place until the death of his brother in 1956. He continued to live on the same farm with his nephew, William, and family.

Surviving Mr. Goetsch are one brother, Edward Goetsch of Cedar Falls; one sister, Mrs., Herbert (Lorena) Evans of Lime Springs, and 15 nephews and nieces.

Preceding Mr. Goetsch in death were his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
