Two Years Illness Preceded Death. Widow, Two Children Survive Retired Albion Township Farmer.
Funeral services for Wesley Floyd Keune, age 52, of Cresco, retired Albion township farmer, are being held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2:00 in the Cresco First Evangelical United Brethren church.
Mr. Keune died Sunday night following an illness of two years.
The Rev. W. E. Moulton, pastor, will conduct the services, and burial will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery. The Bradley Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Wesley Floyd Keune, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Keune, was born October 13, 1897, in Albion township. He spent his boyhood on the farm and when he was 16 years old his father died, leaving the responsibility of the farm work to him and his brothers.
On September 10, 1919, he was married to Ethel M. Barnes of Harmony, Minnesota. They became the parents of two children, Mae, now Mrs. John Robinson of Lime Springs, and Dale Keune of Cresco.
Mr. and Mrs. Keune retired from the farm in February, 1947, moving to Cresco. Their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Keune, moved to the farm they vacated.
The following October Mr. Keune became ill and never regained his normal health.
He was baptized at an early age and became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church.
Surviving besides the widow and two children, there are one granddaughter, Connie Jean Robinson; two brother, Herbert R. Keune and Amiel Keune of Cresco, and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister who died in infancy.
