Bronner.
Mike Bronner was born in Engenheim, Elsasz, France, June 14, 1846, and passed away at his home in Cresco, Iowa, Dec. 15, 1915, aged 65 years, 6 months and 1 day.
He attended the Lutheran school and was confirmed in the land of his nativity. In 1865 he came to America, spending about six months in Freeport, Illinois, coming from there to Howard county, Iowa, where he resided until his death.
On Nov. 11, 1865, he was united in marriage with Margaret Hawks. To this union were born nine children, eight with the aged wife remain to mourn the death of father. They are as follows: Louis of Decorah, Eveline McNamara of Decorah, Mike of Cresco, Charles who is in Dakota, Anna Becker of Mason City, Iowa, Sarah Fishbach of Cresco, Edith Walter of Decorah, John of Cresco, one daughter dying in infancy.
He also leaves several brothers, 9 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
During his illness he was attended by his children who did all that loving hands could do for his comfort, the two oldest daughters being at his side until he passed away.
Rev. W. A. Scholer conducted the funeral services which were held in the Evangelical church near Florenceville. Burial in cemetery near same.
