Edward H. Krueger Dies Here Sunday, Result of Stroke

Edward Henry Krueger

Funeral services are being held this afternoon (Wednesday) for Edward Henry Krueger, 79, of Cresco, who died in the Cresco hospital Sunday after having suffered a stroke five days previous.

Mr. Krueger had been in good health and was unusually active for his age until he suffered the stroke.

The services are being conducted in the Evangelical United Brethren church with the Rev. Edward A. Schaller, pastor, in charge. Burial is to be in the Cedar Hill cemetery, north of Cresco. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley Funeral home.

Edward Henry Krueger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Krueger, was born in Albion township December 18, 1877.

He was married to Zella Fox, July 12, 1905, and farmed in the northern sections of Howard and Winneshiek counties before retiring from the farm in 1918 and moving to Cresco.

Surviving Mr. Krueger are four sons, Raymond of Cresco, Wayne of Watertown, South Dakota, and John and Leo of Harmony. There are also surviving 11 grandchildren, two brothers, William and Daniel of Cresco, and two sisters, Minnie, Mrs. Henry Klomps of Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin, and Delia, Mrs. Frank Lunsman of Milltown, Wisconsin.

Preceding Mr. Krueger in death were his wife, who died about five years ago, and a son, Elton, who was killed in service in North Africa during World War II.
