Daniel Krueger was born June 30, 1838, in the Province Pomern, Koenigreich, Prussia, Germany, and died in Cresco, Iowa, on Tuesday morning, March 19, 1912. His death came quite unexpected and was a shock to all!

He left Germany and came to America as a young man, landing in New York City where he found employment for several years. From this place he afterwards moved to Manislee, Michigan. Here, too, he spent a number of years. He came to Iowa in 1872 and settled in Albion Township on a farm where he has since resided. About two weeks ago he moved to Cresco where he expected to spend the rest of his years in quiet and ease; but his stay with us here was of a short duration, for death took him away quickly.

Mr. Krueger was married on Feb.16, 1873 to Miss Wilhelmena Keune. To them were born eight children: four sons and four daughters; they are William, Charles, Ed and Dan Krueger, of Albion Township, the daughters are Mrs. Emma Henderson, of Cresco, Miss Delia of Albion Township, Mrs. Wm. H. Cook, of West Union, and Miss Minnie of Cresco.

On March 28, 1894, he was bereft of his faithful wife through death. This was a great loss to him and his small children.

In 1895 he was married to Mrs. Augusta Schuman, his new sorrowing widow; she was to him an excellent wife, and a good mother for his children.

He became acquainted with the Evangelical church soon after coming to lowa and became one of her active members. He was a faithful attendant at the regular church services, and was always interested in her prosperity. He will be missed by us there.

There will be a short service held at the home in Cresco on Saturday morning at 9:15 o'clock, March 23rd and the regular funeral service will be held at one o'clock p.m. at the Albion Evangelical Church, conducted by Rev. Schwab. The interment will take place in the cemetery near the church.

The survivers are his sorrowing widow, four sons, four daughters, one step-son and five step-daughters, and a large number of friends and neighbors.

Our community was shocked at the news of the sudden death of Fred Krueger, so recently of Albion, which occurred at his late home at Cresco, March 19.
