Roy Dempewolf Rites At United Methodist

Funeral services for Roy Dempewolf were held Jan. 2, at 1:30 p.m., at the United Methodist church with the Rev. George Baker, officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery. The Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

He died in his home north of Cresco on Dec. 30, from a heart attack.

Roy L. Dempewolf, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dempewolf, was born Nov. 22, 1886, on a farm in Albion township. After farming for many years, he took up the carpentry trade, in which he actively engaged until the past year.

He served many years on the Albion township school board. He was a member of the Methodist church. This year he began his fiftieth year as a member of the Howard county Farm Bureau.

On January 8, 1918, he married Jennie Davis. The became the parents of two daughters and two sons.

He is survived by his daughters, Evelyn, at home, and Mrs. John (Irene) Krueger of Cresco, two sons, Virgil of Spring Valley, Minn. and Morris of Lime Springs, eight granddaughters, one sister, Mrs. Clara Johnson of St. Paul, Minn. and one brother, Art, of Council Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie, his parents, a twin brother who died in infancy, another brother, Ben, and two sisters, Lydia and Mattie.
