Joyce Ringoen

Joyce Ringoen, 70, of Cresco, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, due to complications following surgery on April 6.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 12, at 11 a.m., at the Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, with the Revs. Phillip Olson and Ginny Olson officiating.

Martha Olson was the organist. Phillip Olson sang "On Eagle's Wings." Other hymns included "In Heaven Above," "O God Our Help" and "Be Present." A CD selection of "Please Remember Me" was also played.

Casket bearers were Dennis Bohr, Craig Bohr, Jeff Miller, Curt Moellers, Dean Darling, Todd Baker, Brad Thorson, Don Harvey, David Harvey and Jerry Moellers.

Interment was at the Sanderson Cemetery, rural Ridgeway. The Lindstrom Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Joyce (Baker) Ringoen was born Jan. 28, 1930, the oldest child of Charles and Florence (Harvey) Baker. Later followed a brother and sister, Don and Charlene.

Joyce was baptized in 1930 at the Methodist Church in Prosper, Minn. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1948.

On Aug. 28,1951, Joyce was united in marriage with Robert Ringoen at First Lutheran, Church in Cresco. They shared a wonderful life together and had six children: Ronda, Gene, Leann, Dale, Julie and Lori.

Farming was their way of life, hectic and happy. Joyce's kitchen was known for fresh cinnamon rolls and brownies and a welcoming cup of "Joyce's Coffee".

For 27 years, Joyce and Bob built up their life and family together, milking cows and raising "the kids". In April of 1977 Bob died.

Joyce carried on, transferring her attention to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her joy in giving was only outweighed by her love for her family.

She enjoyed days spent with family and friends playing cards for hours on end.

Survivors include five children, Ronda Hughes, Lori Lepa and Dale Ringoen, all of Cresco, and Julie Stinson and Gene Ringoen, both of Ridgeway; their families, which include Joyce's 14 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren; and her brother, Don Baker and family of Mabel, Minn.

Joyce Ringoen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Leann; and one sister, Charlene.
