Funeral services for Wilma Tupy, 80, of Cresco were held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco with the Rev. Michael C. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment was in Ca lvary Cemtery. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wilma died at the Howard County Hospital on Saturday, September 28, 1996.

Wilma Rose Tupy was born in Howard County on January 30, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Rose (Kapler) Grimm. She attended St. Joseph's School. Following her education, she went to work as a girl friday, working for various professional people in Cresco. During the War, she went to work for Hinsons in Waterloo making war materials.

On June 16, 1947, she married Leonard Tupy at St. Joseph's Church in Cresco. They made their home on the farm east of Cresco until they retired and moved to town in 1987.

Wilma was a member of St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society.

She is survivied by her husband, Leonard; one daughter, Sr. Mary Ann Tupy of Green Bay, WI; one son, Robert of Cresco; five grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Grimm and Raphael Grimm and one sister, Arletta Rose, all of Cresco.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Joseph and Bernard Grimm; and three sisters, Agnes and Helen Grimm and Cecelia Scanlon.
