Funeral services for Helen G. Weaver of Riceville were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 21, 1996 in the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville. The Rev. Herschel Hawf officiated. Interment was in Saratoga Cemetery.

She died of natural causes at Riceville Community Rest Home on Friday, October 18, 1996.

Helen G. Moses was born January 21, 1909 near Saratoga the daughter of Wesley and Theresa (Dedic) Moses. She was a graduate of Riceville High School and of Upper Iowa University at Fayette. She taught in the rural schools near Saratoga and later taught third grade at Riceville Community School until her retirement.

On December 6, 1938, Helen married Donald Weaver. After their marriage, they lived at several locations in Howard County.

She is survived by two sons, Ron of Manchester and Ray of Evansdale; two daughters, Janet Weaver of Bondurant and Mavis Wallace of Richardson, TX; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
