Albert W. Roberts was born in Elkhart, Indiana, Aug. 22, 1846, and passed away April 30, 1918, at the home of his son Clarence north of Riceville.

He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Buttolph in 1873, and had lived ever since in Mitchell and Howard counties. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and five children, Mrs. Lillian Mann of Valley Junction, Iowa, Frank of Crookston, Minn., Clarence, Mrs. William Eastman and Mrs. Frank Streblow of Riceville, Iowa, together with seventeen grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the home on May 2nd, by Rev C. W. Hempstead, with burial at Riverside cemetery.
