The following clipping was handed us concerning the death of Levi J. Fox, a brother of Marshall and W. A. Fox of this place.

Levi J. Fox was born September 12, 1832, at Ashford, Cataraugus Co., New York, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry McHose, near Edgar, Montana, May 2, 1915, at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 20 days.

In 1856 Mr. Fox came to northern Iowa, settling in Howard county, then the pioneer west. In 1860 he was married to Alida J. Ives, who survives him. In 1873 the family moved to Charles City, Iowa, where Mr. Fox engaged in the dray business. In 1876 Mr. Fox became an Odd Fellow, remaining a member of that order for nearly forty years. He was also a member of the Congregational church. In 1901 Mr. and Mrs. Fox moved to Grinnell, where Mr. Fox engaged in the same business until he suffered a breakdown from heart trouble four years ago. Since then he has led a very quiet life at home. Last March he accompanied his daughter to her home in Montana to spend the remainder of his days. Mrs. Fox remaining in Grinnell with Mrs. S. McHose and expecting to join him in a few months.

At first Mr. Fox seemed benefited by the change of climate, but was noticeably failing for a few days until the change came suddenly Sunday afternoon, after only an hour's illness.

The funeral was held from the McHose home Tuesday afternoon, attended by the Odd Fellows of Edgar, who acted as pallbearers. Rev. Spencer of Bridger preached the funeral sermon. Deceased was laid to rest in the pleasant Rockvale cemetery near Edgar.

Mr. Fox was the second son of a family of nine children. Four brothers survive him, two in northern Iowa and two in western New York. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Anna E. Johnston of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Emma D. McHose of Edgar, Mont.
