The following clipping from the Sawtelle (Calif.) Tribune, has referance to Henry Salisbury, formerly a resident of Howard County, a pioneer on the farm four miles northeast of Riceville, and the father of W. H. Salisbury of Osage:
Mr. Henry Salisbury, after an illness of over a year, answered the summons of the death angel at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. Q. Burge, Rochester avenue and Wellsley street, last Sunday evening. Mr. Salisbury was 87 years old and has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Burge for the past year and a half. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. W. Mecum at Finsh's chapel Tuesday morning and interment was given at Sunset cemetery.
Mr. Salisbury was born in Chautauqua county, New York, and had spent the greater portion of his life upon a farm in Iowa. Twenty-three years ago he came to Califonia and made his home in Murietta. About two years ago his health began to fail, and he shortly afterwards came to Sawtelle to make his home with his daughter. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Murietta and possessed a great number of warm friends.
The deceased leaves a wife, Ellen, a daughter, Mrs. Burge, and three sons; Rev. H. R., is pastor of the M. E. church at Lankershim; W. H, an attorney at Osage, Iowa, and Charles E., an attorney at Burbank.
