Robert Martin Wilcox was born Feb. 13, 1891, at Jamestown, Iowa, and died May 29, 1910, at his home near LeRoy, Minn., his age at the time of his death being 19 years, 3 months, and 16 days.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a father, mother, two sisters and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held Tuesday, May 31, at 2 o'clock in the Congregational church of Riceville. Rev. S. J. Huffman preached the sermon and Rev. R. P Jones of Fredericksburg assisted.
Robert was a fine young man. To know him was to love him. A young man of high ideals and commanding the highest regard of all who knew him. We extend to the parents our sympathy and love in this their great affliction.
"A bright and happy home which he loved is in a short period of time left a place of sorrow. Some men's aim is to make riches, and yet they fall, but such was not the case with Robert. His aim was to make friends, which he did with everyone with whom he became acquainted, until his Worthy Redeemer saw fit to take him to Himself, so that he may shine as a bright star in the heavens above before the loved ones who are left to mourn his loss, which was no small one. The heartfelt sympathy of the many friends is extended to his dear parents and sisters, and may his absence in the home be filled by the thought that his life, though short, was a happy one; and that he died with no enemies and with many friends."
